Job summary

Bolton Council is seeking an experienced catering supervisor to take overall responsibility for the school catering operation at St Pauls Primary School. This permanent role is term-time only and involves 27.50 hours per week on-site.

The successful candidate will have NVQ level 2 (catering) or City & Guilds qualifications, and will be prepared to work towards recognised nutrition and food safety qualifications. DBS checks apply, and sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in portion control, budgets and ordering for large-scale catering.
  • Willingness to work towards recognised nutrition/food safety qualifications if not already held.

Responsibilities

  • The overall management of a school catering operation and ensuring quality and consistency of service.
  • Monitor budgets and ordering for large-scale catering.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and policies.

Education

NVQ level 2 (catering) or City & Guilds (catering) qualifications or equivalent
Recognised Nutrition Qualification Level 2 or above
Recognised Food Safety Qualification Level 2 or above

Job description

Grade D Scp 6 £13.91 to Scp 11 £15.06 per hour

Contract permanent, Term-Time Only

The Role:

The overall management of a school catering operation, monitoring and controlling the catering service to ensure that quality and consistency of service are always maintained.

Location and hours:

St Pauls Primary School 27.50 hours

About You:

Excellent practical skills are essential for this hands-on role. You will need to be determined, energetic with good organisational skills, used to cooking for large numbers, and ideally have a school catering background with an understanding of portion control, budgets and ordering.
