Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to support nutritious meals for pupils at Laceyfields School. This permanent, part-time role runs 27.5 hours per week over 40 weeks per year, Monday to Friday, 8am to 1:30pm, at LN11 8DQ.

You will work with the Catering Lead to prep, cook and serve meals, maintain a clean kitchen and dining environment, and help with stock control and costings while following safety regulations and Trust policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious food.
• Set up dining room for service.
• Wash up and clean kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist with stock control and record keeping.
• Support use and maintenance of catering equipment; report faults.
• Ensure efficient use of gas, electricity and water.
• Operate catering IT systems as required.
• Attend training courses and meetings as required.
• Share catering knowledge with colleagues.
• Carry out duties in line with legislation and Trust policies.
• Deliver high-quality service to the Wellspring community – right first time.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the role.
