Job summary

Stir is seeking a Chef Manager to lead our on-site catering operation at a school. You will balance culinary excellence with strong business acumen, delivering top-quality meals and service while driving profitability and customer satisfaction.

You will oversee menu development, cost management, and lead a team of kitchen and service staff. The role requires health and safety knowledge, promotions, and client relationship-building with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong financial understanding of gross profit management.
• Proven track record in leading and developing a team.
• Extensive craft experience with fresh ingredients.
• Solid knowledge of current Health & Safety in professional kitchens.
• OND or HND qualification preferred (not essential).

Responsibilities

• Own P&L for the catering operation, optimise costs to maximise profitability.
• Lead high-quality meals and ongoing menu development using sustainable ingredients.
• Lead, coach and motivate staff to ensure excellent dining experiences.
• Drive sales and revenue through monthly promotions and events.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and conduct regular audits.
• Build strong relationships with clients and customers on site.
