Job summary

Minehead Middle School is seeking two General Catering Assistants to join the on-site catering team. Based at Minehead Middle School with cover at other Minehead schools, you will help prepare meals, serve pupils, and maintain hygiene in a busy kitchen.

Hours are 27.5 per week, Monday to Friday, term time plus two inset days. Pay is £13.28–£13.48 per hour (Grade 1/scale point range 3-4). The role offers supportive teamwork and training where required.

Qualifications

• Friendly and approachable; enjoys working with children.
• Reliable, adaptable across different locations and schools.
• Able to follow instructions and maintain hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of meals, sandwiches and salads.
• Support cooking of simple items and vegetables.
• Serve food and provide customer service to pupils and staff.
• Set up and clear dining areas and wash crockery and equipment.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
