Job summary

PRS LTD in Hastings is seeking Temporary Kitchen Porter / General Assistant staff for flexible, temporary work across schools, care homes and healthcare settings. Roles are available on both full-time and part-time schedules with immediate start possible.

Essential DBS clearance is required, along with a positive attitude, reliability and good teamwork. You will help with food prep, cleaning, delivery receiving and supporting service periods as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Kitchen Porter or related hospitality role.
• A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (in-date).
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Reliability, punctuality and good communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen teams with food preparation tasks.
• Wash pots, pans, crockery and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and service areas.
• Assist with food service and counter service when required.
• Receive and store deliveries.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
• Support catering teams during busy service periods.

Are you a hardworking Kitchen Porter or General Assistant with a valid Enhanced DBS certificate looking for flexible temporary work across Hastings?

We are currently looking for staff on a both full time and part time basis across schools in Hastings, with roles available for immediate start.

The Role

As a Temporary Kitchen Porter / General Assistant, your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting kitchen teams with food preparation tasks
• Washing pots, pans, crockery, and kitchen equipment
• Maintaining cleanliness throughout kitchen and service areas
• Assisting with food service and counter service when required
• Receiving and storing deliveries
• Following food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
• Supporting catering teams during busy service periods

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Catering Assistant, General Assistant, or within a hospitality environment
• A valid, in-date Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential)
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Reliability, punctuality, and good communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Understanding of food hygiene and cleanliness standards
