Are you an experienced, reliable, and hands-on Caretaker ready for your next opportunity? Smile Education is looking for a dedicated individual to support a well-respected school community located in the B8 area of Birmingham.

Role Overview:

• Position:School Caretaker
• Location:Birmingham (B8 postcode)
• Start Date:Immediate
• Hours:Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

What You’ll Be Doing:
Your role is essential to ensuring the school runs smoothly and remains a safe, welcoming space for students, staff, and visitors. You’ll take pride in maintaining the site, carrying out repairs, and being a trusted key holder.

Key Responsibilities:
General maintenance and upkeep of school buildings and grounds
Opening and securing the school daily
Handling minor repairs and coordinating external contractors for major works
Supervising cleaning staff and ensuring high hygiene standards
Supporting with porterage duties and school events
Key holder responsibilities


What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working as a Caretaker, ideally within a school setting
• Practical skills in general maintenance and repairs
• A proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious attitude
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
• Two professional references
