Job summary

Teach Now in Hertfordshire seeks a School Caretaker to keep the site secure, clean and welcoming, from opening up to minor repairs. This temporary full-time role runs through Christmas 2026 and offers a busy, practical daily routine across buildings and grounds.

You will work Monday to Friday during term time, earn 130–200 per day, and collaborate with contractors and the school team. An enhanced DBS check is required and pay aligns with Agency Worker Regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking/facilities/site maintenance experience.
• Practical skills for minor building repairs.
• Knowledge of premises health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Open and close premises and ensure site security.
• Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance.
• Keep outdoor areas clean and well maintained.
• Inspect site and report maintenance needs.
• Monitor doors, windows, alarms and access points.
• Support contractors during site works.
• Respond promptly to urgent premises issues.
