Job summary

The East Manchester Academy invites applications for a reliable Caretaker to help keep the school site safe and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors. Under the Facilities Manager, you will manage day-to-day maintenance, security and upkeep, ensuring buildings and grounds are fit for purpose and compliant with health and safety standards.

You will undertake portering duties, assist with site projects, monitor equipment and stock, and act as a key holder to ensure swift response to issues,

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, facilities management or similar environments.
• Practical understanding of building maintenance and health and safety requirements.
• Ability to identify issues, prioritise tasks and carry out repairs efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
• Carry out day-to-day repairs and planned maintenance under guidance of Facilities Manager.
• Support health and safety compliance, site security and grounds maintenance.
• Undertake portering duties and assist with site projects as needed.
• Liaise with contractors and monitor maintenance equipment and stock levels.
• Be a key holder and respond promptly to maintenance issues to support a positive learning environment.
