Job Title: School Caretaker - Bridgend
Location: Primary School, Bridgend
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (Split Shifts)
Hours: 6:30am - 10:00am & 2:30pm - 5:30pm

We are currently seeking a reliable, proactive, and experienced School Caretaker to join a primary school in Bridgend. This is a key role within the school, supporting the day-to-day operation and ensuring the premises are safe, secure, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school premises daily
• General maintenance duties within the school building
• Grounds maintenance and upkeep
• Basic painting and decorating
• Basic electrical maintenance (e.g., changing light bulbs, resetting circuit breakers)
• Reporting any health & safety concerns or larger maintenance issues
• Supporting the leadership team with site-related tasks as needed

Please note: Cleaning is not part of this role - the school has a dedicated cleaning team.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role (e.g. caretaker, facilities maintenance, site manager)
• Good practical skills and a hands-on, problem-solving approach
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
• Enhanced DBS required (or willingness to obtain one)
