Job description

We are looking to appoint a Caretaker to join our Site Maintenance Team at Chipping Sodbury School. This vacancy is a full-time post (37 hours per week, all year round), but we would also consider applications for the post on a part-time basis. The part-time working pattern can be flexible and options discussed with candidates at interview.

Can you turn your hand to all things practical? Are you able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team? Are you reliable, flexible in your approach to work whilst being committed, and have a sense of humour? If so, we would like to hear from you.

You will undertake minor maintenance and repairs, general handyperson duties, and assist with the day-to-day running of the school site. You will act as a key holder and be responsible for the security of the school premises.

Knowledge and experience of DIY skills is required, together with some knowledge and experience of relevant health and safety procedures, operation of cleaning equipment, and cleansing agents. The application of common sense and initiative and the ability to establish good working relationships is essential. Basic IT literacy in the use of e-mail and internet is also an essential requirement for communication and information gathering.
