Job summary

Enable Trust is seeking a part-time Caretaker at Pathways Learning Centre to help maintain a safe, welcoming school environment. The role includes routine maintenance, health and safety checks, and supporting contracted works, with early mornings and afternoons to cover 25 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience, be reliable and self-motivated, and able to manage priorities while upholding safeguarding standards.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming school environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
• Carry out routine maintenance, minor repairs and site improvements.
• Undertake regular health and safety checks and report or address issues.
• Open and secure the site, buildings and facilities in line with operational requirements.
• Support contractors and monitor works carried out on site.
• Assist with site security, emergency procedures and compliance requirements.
• Maintain external areas, grounds and outdoor spaces to a high standard.
• Support the preparation of rooms and facilities for school activities and events.
• Take pride in the appearance, cleanliness and overall presentation of the site.

Caretaker - Pathways Learning Centre £25,583-£25,989 full-time equivalent (actual salary for part-time working £14,862 - £15,104) - Pay award pending 25 hours per week, All Year Round, PermanentSplit shifts: 07:00 - 09:00 & 15:00 - 18:00, Monday-Friday

What you’ll be doing

• Helping to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming school environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

• Undertaking regular health and safety checks and reporting or addressing issues as appropriate.
• Opening and securing the site, buildings and facilities in line with operational requirements.

• Maintaining external areas, grounds and outdoor spaces to a high standard.
• Supporting the preparation of rooms and facilities for school activities and events.
