Job description

Pinnacle Group is seeking an experienced Caretaker to maintain our buildings and facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained, secure, functional, and compliant with Health & Safety standards.

You will join our Facilities Management team at Uplands School, Swindon. Your duties include routine maintenance, managing repairs, enforcing security protocols, and keeping the premises clean and orderly. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent problem-solving skills. This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week from 10AM to 6PM. These hours may be subject to change.

Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure security of school buildings and grounds through locking/unlocking, patrols, and monitoring.
  • Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance according to each school's schedule and your skills.
  • Assist service providers on-site for remedial or scheduled maintenance, providing access and liaising as needed.
  • Carry out minor repairs and decoration works.
  • Respond to emergencies such as floods or bodily fluids, executing rectifications per procedures and timelines.
  • Check BMS, boilers, hot water systems, pest inspections, drains, gullies, and plant rooms.
  • Perform daily duties such as litter picking, bin emptying, sweeping, and cleaning toilets.
Key Requirements
  • General handyman skills, including DIY, minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • A friendly and approachable personality.
  • Ability to liaise with external service providers.
  • Teamwork skills.
