Job summary

Responsibilities

• Security of the school premises, including opening and locking as required.
• Order and secure storage of cleaning equipment and materials.
• Cleaning of designated area according to current standards.
• Acting as a key holder and responding to emergency call-outs.
• Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs and decorating tasks.
• Health and safety checks of premises and grounds.
• Monitor and maintain building services (heating, lighting, alarms, water).
• Ensure external areas and playgrounds are safe and clean.
• Liaise with contractors and external agencies as needed.
• Support school events and activities.
• Present a positive image of the school to pupils, parents, visitors and community.

Main Duties

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For

• The security of the school premises, including opening and locking the site as required.
• To be responsible for the ordering of cleaning equipment and materials and the secure storage thereof.
• To be responsible for the cleaning of a specified area in accordance with the County Council’s current standards and methods.
• Acting as a key holder and responding to emergency call-outs where necessary.
• Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs and basic decorating tasks.
• Undertaking regular health and safety checks of the premises and grounds.
• Monitoring and maintaining building services, including heating, lighting, fire alarms and water systems.
• Ensuring external areas, pathways and playgrounds are safe, clean and free from hazards.
• Liaising with contractors and external agencies as required.
• Supporting the preparation of school events and activities.
• Ensuring the school site presents a positive image to pupils, parents, visitors and the wider community.
