Job description
Overview

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Site Supervisor to join a school based in Redcar. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week (Mon - Fri). The assignment will initially be temporary, with the view to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

Working pattern: Monday to Friday 6:30 - 14:30 or/and 10:30 - 18:30, a split shift may be required on the odd occasion for holiday cover and flexibility for events such as parents evenings and school productions.

Responsibilities
  • Opening, closing, locking, and unlocking school gates and buildings
  • Site security and safety for all users
  • Upkeep, cleanliness, and general care of school buildings and grounds
  • Undertaking minor repairs and maintenance; reporting any larger issues
  • General porterage: moving furniture, preparing rooms for functions and events
  • Managing refuse disposal; ensuring external areas are tidy and hazard-free
  • Maintaining fire escape routes; carrying out routine safety and risk assessments
  • Ensuring statutory compliance checks using relevant systems (e.g. CAFM or similar)
  • Reporting and taking remedial action where hazards are identified
  • Liaising with contractors, staff, parents, and external stakeholders as required
Essential Criteria
  • Experience of site maintenance or related trade
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good time-management and organisational ability
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements and best practices
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, or equivalent
  • Willingness to be flexible with working patterns (events, split shifts, holiday cover etc.)
  • A satisfactory enhanced DBS check
