Overview

School Caretaker. Small Primary school in the Malton area. Permanent position. 10 hours per week to be worked during the school term time plus an additional two weeks during the school holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the school's buildings and grounds are in proper working order and maintain a safe environment for all users.
  • Carry out minor repairs and report faults that require specialist help.
  • Maintain the grounds and ensure the premises are clean and rubbish is collected.
  • Be responsible for the security of the buildings, carry out security checks, and ensure fire safety and health and safety regulations are adhered to.
Job requirements
  • Good DIY skills and knowledge of basic maintenance.
  • Manual handling techniques.
  • Ability to use power tools safely; all safety equipment will be provided.
  • Good communication skills and a reliable member of the team.
  • Ability to work both inside and outside of the school grounds.
  • An enhanced DBS check.
  • Suitable references.
