Job description

School Caretaker

Build Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Caretaker for our Client based in the Sheffield area.

The successful post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, operational running, and security/supervision of the site and related equipment.

Please Note: You will be working through the holiday period and out of term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out building fabric repairs, adjustments, maintenance, installations, and removals.
  • Undertake and record weekly checks and works carried out.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed on time and to Health and Safety standards.
  • Ensure the site security by unlocking and locking all doors, entries, and exits.
  • Liaising with and monitoring the work of contractors, including cleaning contractors.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, customers, and clients.
  • Report any incidents that may adversely affect service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar facility management and/or caretaking role.
  • Must work well as part of a team.
  • Able to attend regular appraisals and agree on a personal development program in accordance with the job requirements.
  • Able to plan and prioritize workloads to achieve objectives.
  • Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to assess and tackle a wide range of disciplines within skill sets.
  • You will be required to have an Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to go through a new one.
