This position is part-time with a contract of 27.5 hours per week.

Job description

Are you practical, proactive, and take pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes? We re looking for a dedicated School Caretaker to join our friendly team and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our pupils and staff.

This is a varied and hands-on role, perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, DIY, and being an essential part of the school community. Please note: A full UK driving licence is essential, as occasional travel to other schools within our Trust may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily site inspections and basic maintenance/repairs.
  • Ensuring the site is opened, secured, and safe each day.
  • Supporting with deliveries, contractors, and minor projects.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Responding to day-to-day facilities issues as they arise.

Requirements:

  • A reliable and organised individual with a can-do attitude.
  • Practical maintenance or caretaking experience preferred.
  • Someone who takes initiative and enjoys being hands-on.
  • A team player, flexible and ready to help where needed.
  • A full driving licence and access to transport.

This role is a 27.5 hour contract a week, working Monday Friday, 52 weeks of the year.

Please note: A full UK driving licence is essential, as occasional travel to other schools within our Trust may be required. The successful candidate would need to be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check due to the nature of the role.
