Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) seeks a committed catering operative to support daily operations of the school catering unit. You will participate in food preparation, service, and hygiene tasks, ensuring efficient, clean and welcoming dining environments for pupils and staff.

You will work under the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor, contributing to high standards of service, safety and teamwork within a busy school setting. A strong focus on customer care is essential.

Qualifications

• Clear demonstration on how you meet the essential criteria in the application form.

• Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food and beverage preparation.
• Perform simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organise and control food service points.
• Transfer and serve meals and snacks, including transported meals.
• Assist with promotion of meals to pupils, parents and staff.
• Maintain hygiene in dining and kitchen areas and assist with cleaning duties.
• Record temperatures for control purposes and ensure premises security.
