Job summary

Teaching Vacancies is seeking a seasoned School Business Manager (SBM) to lead financial operations within a UK primary school. You will report to the Senior Leadership Team and collaborate with a supportive governing body to ensure robust financial governance and strategic planning.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 4 Diploma in School Business Management or an equivalent qualification, with proven track record in school finance, HR or admin.

• Proven Experience: You must have direct, demonstrable experience working as an SBM or School Bursar in a UK school environment.
• Thick-Skinned & Adaptable: You thrive under pressure, can juggle competing priorities calmly, and are comfortable managing a high-volume workload.
• Expert Multi-Tasker: You are equally comfortable talking budget forecasts with governors as you are coordinating a boiler repair with the site manager.
• Qualified: Ideally, you hold a Level 4 (or higher) Diploma in School Business Management (CSBM/DSBM) or an equivalent finance/business qualification.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 4 Diploma in School Business Management or an equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Finance or HR. We would still welcome applications from candidates with a proven track record of working in business management, finance or HR.
