Acton Gardens Primary School is seeking a School Business Manager to provide strategic leadership across finance, HR, premises, health and safety, procurement and school operations. The post collaborates closely with the Headteacher and governors to ensure effective running of the school.

It is a term-time role with 35 hours a week plus three weeks in the holidays, starting 4 January 2027. Visa sponsorship is not available; opportunities for professional development and career progression are

School Business Manager at Acton Gardens Primary School, a two-form entry primary formed in 2022 from the merger of two schools. The post gives strategic leadership across finance, HR, premises, health and safety, procurement and school operations, working closely with the Headteacher and governors. It is a term-time role of 35 hours a week, plus three weeks in the holidays, and includes leading administrative and premises staff. Visa sponsorship is not available, and the start date is 4 January 2027.

Qualifications

• Relevant school business management qualification, or equivalent experience

• Experience of HR, premises management and health and safety

Skills & knowledge

• Strong financial management, including budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
• Excellent organisational, communication and ICT skills
• Leading and motivating administrative and premises teams
• Being proactive, resourceful and able to manage competing priorities
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in a school setting
