Job summary

VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for a School Bus Driver to drive any vehicle allocated in a careful, lawful manner with special reference to the persons and equipment being carried. This role will initially be on a temporary basis, with possible extension.

£14.99 per hour plus discount benefits. Duties include transporting children, assisting with mobility needs, ensuring safety, and completing required reports and logs.

Qualifications

• Hold a full category D licence.
• Have a valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
• Possess a Digital Tachograph Card before start.
• Evidence of experience driving a bus (17 seat vehicle or larger).

Responsibilities

• Transport children to and from school or authorised locations, including those with mobility needs.
• Assist children getting in/out of the vehicle.
• Ensure good behaviour on board and report incidents.
• Operate lifts and ramps; secure wheelchairs.
• Provide basic first aid and report injuries promptly.
• Direct escorts to support duties as required.
• Transpor t meals to and from School Meals Kitchens and assist as needed.
• Keep journey logs and report fuel, oil, servicing and repairs.
