Trinity School is an all age (3 to 19) modern, vibrant Special School catering for the needs of learners who have a wide range of complex needs including: severe and profound learning difficulties. A number of our pupils also have Autism Spectrum Condition.

Trinity School is looking for a School Based Social Worker who will work closely with our families and will coordinate family support and safeguarding across the school. The aim of this post is to ensure that all of our families are supported to overcome barriers to support each of our learners to achieve their full potential in school, at home and the wider community.

A key part of this role will be leading our family support offer, with the opening of our brand-new Family Centre based on the premises before the end of this calendar year.

The role of School Based Social Worker at Trinity School offers a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in supporting families, ensuring the well-being of learners with significant learning difficulties and disabilities. If you are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of children and their families, this role will allow you to contribute meaningfully to a vibrant and inclusive school community.

Applicants will need to be qualified Social Workers who are two years post qualified with safeguarding experience.

Job Purpose:

Lead safeguarding and child protection at Trinity School. Collaborate with social services and external agencies to ensure student well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all safeguarding activities and policies
  • Develop intervention plans for complex situations
  • Train and support staff on safeguarding issues
  • Maintain confidential records and prepare reports
  • Support SEND students and their families
  • Liaise with social services and attend/ and or co-ordinate multi-agency meetings
  • Support a large team of Designated Safeguarding Leads to triage records of concern as appropriate
  • Lead our team of family support workers, developing the school’s Family Support offer which includes a brand-new Family Centre which is due to be completed this summer

We are committed to ensuring a consistent, high-quality provision for our pupils and will be looking for candidates who can offer excellent levels of attendance.
