Job summary

Principal Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic Art Technician to support the Art Department in a busy UK school setting. The post involves preparing materials, resources and equipment for lessons while ensuring a safe, well-organised workspace for students and staff.

You will work closely with Art teachers to enable high-quality teaching and learning, assist with displays and events, and help manage stock and equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience with practical art activities.
• Organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Good eye for detail and safety in a school setting.
• Willing to learn new techniques across media.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organise materials, equipment and resources for art lessons.
• Support teachers and students with practical art activities.
• Maintain art rooms, studios, equipment and storage areas to a high standard.
• Follow health and safety procedures for tools, materials and chemicals.
• Assist with displays, exhibitions and school events.
• Monitor stock levels and source materials as required.
• Carry out basic maintenance and preparation of equipment and materials.
• Support the day-to-day running of the Art Department.
