Job Title: School Administrator – Tunbridge Wells
Type: Full-time, Permanent (Term-time only, plus 5 INSET days – 39 weeks per year, and up to 2 weeks during exam results period in August; additional time paid on claim)
Salary: Kent Range D (£26,393 per annum, £23,005.93 per annum Term Time Only)

My client is seeking an experienced School Administrator to provide professional administrative support across the school office and wider school community. You will join our lively and well-respected Support Team of eight.

Purpose of the Role
  • Provide high-quality administrative support to staff, students, and parents, ensuring the smooth running of the school.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people in line with school procedures.
Key Responsibilities
School Office Support
  • Assist the Office Manager and work within the office team.
  • Manage enquiries and school–home communications.
  • Undertake ad hoc administrative projects as required.
Data Management & Student Records
  • Maintain accurate student data on Bromcom and other systems, including admissions, leavers, and reports.
  • Lead the annual Data Collection Exercise and ensure proper archiving of student records.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and actively recommend improvements to processes.
Student Admissions & Leavers
  • Assist with bulk intake of Year 7 and Sixth Form students, including record-keeping, forms, and communications with parents and staff.
  • Manage in-year admissions and off-rolling of students, updating records and notifying relevant staff.
Communications
  • Handle telephone and email enquiries professionally.
  • Produce letters on behalf of staff and SLT, ensuring consistent style and accurate distribution via email or school apps.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide cover at Main Reception, managing visitors and monitoring security systems.
  • Assist the Attendance Officer and distribute student bus passes.
  • Support ad hoc projects and system updates as needed.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in administration, ideally in a school setting (not mandatory).
  • Highly organised, flexible, and able to prioritise competing demands.
  • Confident with computer systems and office software.
  • A good sense of humour is a bonus!
