Job Overview

About the School - Kings Plymouth

King’s School and Nursery in Plymouth is a co-educational independent school for children aged 8 months up to 11 years old. We provide a complete education in a warm and nurturing environment.

Our strong sense of family and community, where each child is guided and encouraged to aim high and do their best both academically and personally, is something we are very proud of. Good manners and thoughtfulness for others are core values and children learn to take responsibility whilst gaining in self-confidence, self-discipline and maturity.

The school now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced School Administration Manager (Front of House) to join our fantastic team.

About Cognita

Each of our schools are proudly unique, however our collective purpose is to create an environment where everyone can, ‘Thrive in a rapidly evolving world’.

About The Role

As School Administrator, you will be the friendly and professional first point of contact at our front of house. You’ll help ensure the school runs smoothly by supporting students, staff, and families with a wide range of administrative tasks. From answering phones and greeting visitors, to managing pupil records, coordinating club bookings, supporting attendance processes, and assisting with internal communications, your role is vital to our day-to-day success. You'll also liaise with facilities, support HR and Admissions tasks, and keep reception areas tidy and welcoming. You’ll work closely with the wider team, including the Head and Operations Manager, in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

This is a full-time, permanent role with a proposed August 2025 start date.

Please note: this is an all year round role and NOT term time only. Working hours will generally be between 0900 - 1800 with a 1hr lunch.

Who We Are Looking For

You are approachable, highly organised, and thrive in a fast-paced school setting. With excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail, you can juggle multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure. You enjoy helping others, can work independently, and have a proactive mindset. Ideally, you’ve worked in a school or busy office before and are confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems. You care about getting things right and want to be part of a supportive, student-focused team. Most importantly, you understand the importance of safeguarding and professionalism in everything you do.
