Are you an experienced school administrator or office professional looking to work in a rewarding educational environment?

GSL Education are currently recruiting a proactive and detail-oriented School Administrator for immediate placements in Ashington. This role offers the chance to contribute to the smooth running of a vibrant school office.

As a School Administrator, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and staff, ensuring all administrative functions operate efficiently. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the senior leadership team and keeping school operations running seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing front desk duties, including greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and responding to emails.
  • Handling pupil data, attendance records, and admissions using school management systems (e.g., SIMS).
  • Supporting staff with general administration tasks, including photocopying, filing, and managing correspondence.
  • Assisting in safeguarding processes, including managing visitor logs and ensuring school security protocols are upheld.
  • Managing school diaries, booking meetings, and organising events.
  • Processing invoices and monitoring school finances, where required.

Job Requirements of the School Admin:

  • Previous experience as a School Administrator or in a similar administrative role within an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in school management software such as SIMS (School Information Management System) or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication, time management, and IT skills.
  • A professional, calm, and friendly manner when working under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a busy office team.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
