Job description

We are seeking a dedicated School Activity Leader to join our vibrant team in Blackpool, starting September 2025!

This secondary school is a thriving school in the heart of Blackpool, committed to providing a holistic and inspiring educational experience for all our students. We believe that extracurricular activities play a vital role in fostering confidence, developing new skills, and promoting well-being.

About the Role: As a School Activity Leader, you will be instrumental in delivering a diverse and exciting programme of activities for our students, both during and after school hours. Your responsibilities will include:

Planning, organising, and leading a wide range of engaging activities, including sports, arts & crafts, drama, games, clubs, and excursions.

Creating a positive, inclusive, and safe environment that encourages student participation and enjoyment.

Supervising students during activities, ensuring their safety and welfare at all times.

Promoting teamwork, fair play, and personal development.

Collaborating with teaching staff to integrate activities with the school curriculum where appropriate.

Managing equipment and resources effectively.

Maintaining accurate records of attendance and activity participation.

Being a positive role model for all students.

What We're Looking For:

Experience: Proven experience in leading or assisting with group activities, ideally within a school, youth club, or similar setting.

Passion for Youth Development: A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people and a commitment to their personal growth.

Creativity & Initiative: Ability to design and deliver innovative and exciting activities.

Strong Communication Skills: Excellent ability to engage with students of all ages, colleagues, and parents.

Organisational Skills: Highly organised with good time management and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a school team.

Positive Attitude & Energy: A proactive, resilient, and adaptable approach.

Safeguarding: A strong understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to ensuring the welfare of all children. (Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check).

First Aid Qualification: Desirable, or willingness to obtain.
