Honeycomb is delighted to assist our public sector client in recruiting an experienced 'Logistics Scheduler/Work Controller'. Immediate, highly competitive hybrid role with a competitive 6-month+ package.

The Client - This large organisation offers a wide range of regional utility services. The package includes flexi-time and overtime opportunities. Further details will be shared during application. Immediate posting due to internal promotions. Excellent team environment within this department.

The Role - Based on the 'Water side' of Derry / L'Derry, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm. This is an immediate, full-time temporary role with a likely extension beyond the initial 6 months. The role involves supporting the Logistics and Operations Manager to deliver effective service to both domestic and commercial customers.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Control the assignment, scheduling, dispatch, and closure of work to staff and contractors, using our systems to optimize resources and prioritize customer requirements in line with the organisation's values.
  • Interpret data from various systems and customers to identify real-time events, enabling early response and quick resolution. Monitor events through to closure, updating colleagues and systems to keep customers informed.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and accurately update information in systems to support data integrity, operational efficiency, and management quality.
  • Collaborate with Intelligent Operations and Production Lines colleagues, sharing information effectively.
  • Extract data and present it clearly and concisely, tailored to the specific task.
  • Prepare and distribute regular and ad-hoc reports to assist management and colleagues in making quick, informed decisions.
  • Maintain process documents, ensuring they remain fit for purpose, and suggest improvements to enhance service delivery.

The Person - The ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and able to prioritize workload effectively.

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade C or above, including English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Experience communicating effectively across diverse stakeholders using various communication methods.
  • Experience working to targets and deadlines in regulated or customer service environments.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and contribute to the wider team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel and Word.

Experience in logistics or scheduling is essential, preferably within a utility company, with knowledge of NI Water assets and networks.
