Job Title: Scheduler

Reporting to the Network Planning Manager, this role involves leading the planning, reviewing, and developing efficient timetables and schedules that meet franchise and service delivery requirements, considering safety, reliability, acceptability, and cost.

The role requires liaising and negotiating with Depot Management Teams and Depot Trades Unions regarding the implementation of timetables and schedules.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Ownership of Timetables and Schedules
  2. Strategic Efficiency and Continuous Improvement
  3. Ensuring Regulatory Compliance and Industry Standards
  4. Managing Technology and Systems
  5. Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership
  6. Providing coverage for other Schedulers during absences to ensure seamless service
  7. Using computer-based scheduling software effectively
  8. Understanding financial and costing procedures
  9. Knowledge of Domestic Driving Hours Regulations
  10. Having comprehensive geographical knowledge of Greater Manchester, especially Metroline’s operating area and depot locations (desirable)
  11. Understanding franchise environment requirements, contractual procedures, obligations, and managing operational issues
  12. Experience with Hastus Scheduling software (desirable)
Hours of Work

Basic 38 hours per week with flexibility required for hours/days worked, including weekends, according to operational needs.
