Job description

Samuel Knight is looking to hire a SCADA engineer for one of their clients on the east coast. This engineer will be reporting to the engineering manager and will be responsible for all aspects of SCADA Integration and Engineering for ground-mounted utility scale solar PV, Wind, and battery storage projects. Additional areas of responsibility will include working with the engineering team in the development of the company standard SCADA standards for future facilities.

I'm looking for someone who has worked for a design and engineering company to establish standards and procedures for the SCADA architecture for new PV solar and battery storage facilities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare points lists of all data to be transferred between the ROCC and project sites controlled and monitored apparatus; assign and program data addressing and routing information.
  2. Design company standards and procedures for the Human Machine Interface (HMI), SCADA system equipment, network and communications, data security, etc.
  3. Support the Estimation Department with control systems-related engineering documents and quantities.
  4. Support the Development team with needed development engineering documents.
  5. Review and approve EPC engineering submittals, controlling their conformance with SOW contracted schedule.
  6. Assist EPC Contractors in programming and commissioning PLC controllers, SCADA servers, SCADA historians, and HMIs.
  7. Contribute innovative ideas to enhance technology and quality in practices utilized by the BayWa r.e. engineering & operations departments.
  8. Support SCADA FAT & SAT testing and commissioning of new PV solar, wind, battery storage, or other renewable energy facilities.
  9. Support system hand-off of commissioned SCADA systems to our ROCC.
  10. Integrate new and/or existing renewable power plants into the existing ROCC SCADA system.
  11. Act as a technical lead for SCADA troubleshooting and diagnostics, including but not limited to; Plant Controller, data acquisition, field level devices, and network-related issues.
  12. Travel to troubleshoot and modify issues at the ROCC facility under emergency circumstances.
Experience:

This candidate will have two to five years of control systems and integration experience, with at least one year of experience on utility scale renewable projects/power plants. Technical experience in related fields will be considered.
