SC Programme Director

Target Start Date: ASAP

Target End Date: 6 Months +

Recruitment Type (Contractor or Temp): Contractor

Rate: DAY £750

Location of role: Hybrid - Bracknell / Basingstoke

Location requirement (Fully on site / Fully Remote / Hybrid - No of days on site): Hybrid

Clearance Required: SC

Working Pattern (Mon-Fri, Shifts, on-call): Mon-Fri

Essential Experience

  • Transformation & Transition Leadership: Proven experience leading significant transformation and transition programmes as a Programme Director.
  • Infrastructure & Network Projects: Demonstrable background in delivering large-scale network environment projects within complex IT infrastructures.
  • Large-Scale Programme Accountability: Held accountability for high-value deliverables (£10M+), with end-to-end ownership and successful outcomes.
  • Personal Delivery Track Record: Direct, hands-on involvement in programme delivery, not just oversight, including driving business change.
  • Stakeholder & Communications Expertise: Skilled in executive-level communications and managing diverse stakeholders in a complex environment.
  • Commercial Acumen: Experienced in commercial negotiations and managing vendor or partner relationships

Professional Approach & Soft Skills

  • Robust Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage expectations effectively and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Demonstrated experience in cross-functional team collaboration, ensuring stakeholders are engaged and outcomes are aligned with organisational goals.
  • Change & Transformation Evidence: Clear examples of managing organisational change with measurable results, including handling resistance and embedding new ways of working.
  • Strong Character & Presence: Experienced Programme Directors only - must be resilient, commercially savvy, and able to challenge and lead at senior levels.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: APM (Association for Project Management) or equivalent Project Management qualification.
  • Desirable: ITIL Certification and Chartered Engineer status.

Working Pattern

  • Hybrid Model
  • Customer Sites: Regular presence required at sites
  • Base Locations: Basingstoke or Bracknell, with an expectation to actively manage on-site presence as needed.
