Must Have Government Experience

As an interaction/UX designer you will:

  • Create prototypes, wireframes, mock-ups, workflows, user flows, site maps, storyboards, interactive designs, graphic designs, and information architectures.
  • Proficient with tools such as Sketch, Invision Studio, Balsamiq, Axure, and GOV.UK Prototype Kit.
  • Interpret evidence-based research, identify user issues/pain points, and incorporate findings into your designs.
  • Understand usability issues for diverse populations and develop engagement strategies.
  • Design a consistent user experience across mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Collaborate with user researchers and content designers to test, iterate, and launch products and services.
  • Liaise with Product Owners and Stakeholders to clarify requirements.
  • Work with Business Analysts to refine and update designs according to business needs.
  • Coordinate with development teams to ensure design feasibility and proper implementation.

Skills we can’t do without:

  • Ability to iterate rapidly and develop multiple design variants for testing.
  • Develop interaction and user interface designs that meet user needs and accessibility standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of user-centered design approaches.
  • Effective communication across organizational and technical boundaries.
  • Ability to identify user needs, engage stakeholders, and use quantitative and qualitative data to inform outcomes.
  • Deliver information architecture, user journeys, task models, user flows, site flows, sketches, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Proficiency in prototyping in code, understanding of security, accessibility, and version control.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and applying an agile mindset.
  • Understanding team dynamics, collaboration, and giving/receiving constructive feedback.
