Job summary

F5 is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineering Technical Lead with active SC clearance for a major UK Critical National Infrastructure programme. The role is hybrid in the Reading area, combining senior technical leadership with hands-on reliability work on Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms.

You will own SLAs/SLOs, drive automation, observability, and CI/CD practices, and mentor senior SREs across multiple teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

Senior SRE with strong Kubernetes/OpenShift experience in production environments.
Proven ability to define and drive SLAs/SLOs and manage error budgets.
Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid environments and CI/CD automation.
Strong observability mindset with practical tooling knowledge.
Infrastructure as Code and GitOps expertise, with automation focus.
Ability to lead engineers and influence teams without formal management.

Responsibilities

Define and drive SRE strategy, including SLAs, SLOs, error budgets and reliability standards.
Provide technical leadership across Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.
Drive automation across monitoring, incident response, recovery and remediation.
Shape observability, capacity management and operational readiness practices.
Act as senior escalation point for major incidents and releases.
Mentor senior SREs and engineers, raise engineering standards across teams.
