Job summary

ECS Resource Group Ltd is seeking a Software Engineer with SC clearance for an initial 5-month contract. The role is fully remote in the UK, paying £400-£575 per day Inside IR35.

You will focus on Python development, packaging, CI/CD and automation, collaborating with security, platform and engineering teams to deliver reliable, developer-friendly solutions. Responsibilities include building secure Python paths, managing internal libraries, designing CI/CD templates, and ensuring reproducible

Qualifications

• Strong Python development skills and experience with internal libraries via pip, PyPI, and Conda.
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Familiarity with containers, SBOMs, policy-as-code and security integrations.
• Knowledge of SSO, RBAC, and security scanning concepts.

Responsibilities

SC Cleared Software Engineer

Initial 5-month Contract

We're recruiting for a Software Engineer to support the development and improvement of secure, python solutions. This role will focus on Python development, package management, CI/CD and automation, working closely with engineering, security and platform teams to create reliable and user-friendly solutions for development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain secure Python and package management golden paths
• Develop curated package repositories and controlled publishing workflows
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, reusable templates and developer tooling
• Integrate platform services with identity, security and runtime environments
• Develop automated onboarding and self-service capabilities
• Support reproducible development environments across Windows, WSL, Linux and containerised platforms
• Troubleshoot developer issues and reduce reliance on workarounds
• Improve platform reliability, build success, performance and supportability
• Produce clear technical documentation and support knowledge transfer
• Work collaboratively with engineering teams to gather feedback and continuously improve the platform

Requirements:

• Strong Python development skills, with hands-on experience managing packages, dependencies and internal Python libraries using tools such as pip, PyPI and Conda
• Strong Python engineering and package management experience
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation and artefact repositories
• Experience with containers and reproducible development environments
• Understanding of SSO, RBAC, security scanning and API integration
