Job summary

Matchtech Group seeks a Plant, Tool & Gauge Engineer to support senior design engineers on development and resilience projects. You will prepare models and drawings for customised equipment, ensuring compliance with BS 8888, ISO9001, and GD&T standards.

The role involves producing drawings, BOMs, and tooling fixtures, while collaborating with product and manufacturing teams to meet process requirements. A Mechanical Engineering qualification is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and complete understanding of BS 8888 and ISO9001.
• A broad knowledge of engineering materials and material properties.
• Understanding and appreciation for GD&T tolerances.
• Familiarity with stock components, fasteners, pneumatics, hydraulics and related pipework.
• Drawing Office experience is essential.
• Hands-on experience with one-off and batch production processes.
• Basic machining and fabrication techniques.
• Drawing experience of gauge fixtures, tooling and weld/sheet metal assemblies.
• HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject.

Responsibilities

• Production of engineering drawings and materials bills for site programs.
• Apply BS 8888 and ISO9001 per sign-off procedures.
• Apply appropriate materials and tolerances for form, fit and function.
• Liaise with Product, Process and Manufacturing engineers to support requirements.
