Job summary

VE3 is a technology and business consultancy in the United Kingdom seeking an Information Architect (SC Cleared) to define how complex information is described, governed and found. You will develop a consistent metadata framework and an information architecture that supports discovery, onboarding, ownership and long-term stewardship across multiple sources.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in information architecture, metadata management and taxonomy design.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into clear entities and data standards.
• Understanding of governance, provenance, security classification and access implications.
• Experience documenting models, data dictionaries and governance rules.
• Strong workshop facilitation and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with data and technical teams to turn frameworks into validation and discovery capabilities.
• Familiar with information catalogues, enterprise search and content discovery.

Responsibilities

• Information modelling: develop conceptual and logical models and maintain metadata schema.
• Taxonomy and standards: define terminology, vocabularies, fields and classification conventions.
• Discovery and reuse: structure information for search and navigation.
• Governance: define stewardship, ownership, provenance, lifecycle and reuse conditions.
• Data onboarding: specify field mappings, validation rules and completeness measures.
• Stakeholder alignment: conduct workshops and secure approval for the information model.
• Business-as-usual: maintain data dictionary, version controls, user guidance and ongoing review process.
