Job summary

The Opportunity Hub UK Ltd in Birmingham is seeking an SC Cleared Programme Manager to lead Defence and Government programmes. You will oversee initiation through closure, manage SC cleared teams and external suppliers, and report to government stakeholders with clear, concise updates.

Qualifications

• Active SC clearance is required.
• Several years of running Defence & Government programmes, ideally with MOD or central government exposure.
• Familiarity with formal governance frameworks (PRINCE2, MSP or similar).
• Strong budget and risk management with a track record of financial integrity.
• Able to brief both ministers’ offices and delivery teams clearly.
• Able to wear multiple hats in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of multiple defence and government programmes from initiation through to close, tracking scope, budget and risk.
• Manage SC cleared teams and external suppliers, ensuring alignment to deadlines.
• Report programme status to government stakeholders with non-technical summaries for sponsors.
• Identify risks early and build effective mitigation plans.
• Run governance boards and milestone reviews efficiently.
• Collaborate across procurement, engineering and security to maintain compliance.
