Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking a Data Engineer (SC Cleared) for an initial 6-month contract in London, hybrid working 2–3 days in the office. The role requires active SC clearance and a strong background in SQL, Athena and data analysis to bridge business and technical teams.

You will collaborate with Analysts, Developers and Engineers, presenting findings and ensuring data quality across multiple data sources while supporting a high-profile programme.

Qualifications

• Active SC Clearance required.
• Strong SQL and Athena experience.
• Experience analysing complex datasets.
• Experience defining, documenting and testing business rules.
• Knowledge of CDLZ or POLEv2 data mapping desirable.

Responsibilities

• Use SQL and Amazon Athena to query, analyse and test data across multiple sources.
• Validate and test business rules and logic using SQL/Athena.
• Identify and document data mappings using CDLZ and POLEv2 desirable.
• Act as the link between Business Analysts and Development/Engineering teams, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and document business logic and rules.
• Perform quality assurance on data analyst code and review BA logic.
