Job summary

Experis UK is hiring Data Engineers (Junior to Senior) to join a brand-new engineering and data function in Newcastle upon Tyne. Active SC Clearance or eligibility is mandatory, with a hybrid working model.

You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based platforms, work with engineers and analysts, ensure data quality and security, and mentor junior engineers as you grow. This is a high-impact, greenfield initiative with modern cloud technologies and long-term career

Qualifications

• Experience with data modelling and warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of data lake and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure / GCP).
• Strong problem-solving skills and collaboration in agile environments.
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Understanding of secure data handling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Develop and optimise data models for analytics and reporting.
• Collaborate with software engineers, analysts, and stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance.
• Implement data governance and security best practices.
• Build and maintain cloud-based data platforms.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data systems.
• Mentor junior engineers (mid/senior levels).
