Job summary

WeAreTechWomen is hiring Data Centre Engineers for a position based in Sevenoaks, Kent, with regular attendance at the Maidstone site. The role requires UK security clearance (SC) or willingness to obtain it, and candidates must have their own transport to cover both sites.

The responsibilities include inspecting equipment status, cycling power, checking cabling, testing paths, and supporting diagnostics with standard customer instructions.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of IT operations within a large organisation.
• Strong loyalty to data and DC facility security.
• Fluency in the local language and English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Ability to work precisely and quality oriented.
• Willingness to cope with unexpected problems and situations.
• Good communication with a commercial attitude on the phone.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect status indicators (LEDs) on Customer Equipment and report status to Customer.
• Perform a power-cycle of Customer Equipment per provided written instructions.
• Inspect cabling and power connections for proper seating.
• Test cable paths against performance standards per instructions.
• Connect Crash Cart (KVM) to assist diagnosis of failed reboots or power cycles.
• Mount media in identified drives as part of system builds or diagnosis.
• Activate hardware controls and replace hot-swappable components as instructed.
