Job summary

Lorien is seeking a Cyber Security Trainer with SC clearance to deliver high-quality training for defence learners. The role combines delivery with SME-level design, translating complex cyber scenarios into practical sessions and labs.

The position focuses on real-world incident response, threat analysis, and exercises, ensuring alignment with MOD standards while developing engaging, learner-friendly content for Shrivenham-based delivery.

Qualifications

• Live SC Clearance required.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of cyber threats, network security, risk management and compliance frameworks.
• Deep understanding of incident response methodologies and tooling.
• Able to translate complex cyber concepts into learner-friendly content.
• Experience designing or delivering cyber exercises, simulations or labs.
• Ability to translate operational knowledge into structured learning materials.
• Familiar with monitoring/analytics platforms such as Elastic.
• Familiar with learning frameworks such as DSAT and JSP 822.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality cyber security and incident response training to learners with varying experience levels.
• Translate real-world cyber operations, threat analysis, and incident handling into clear, practical instruction.
• Act as an in-house SME, providing credible, up-to-date guidance on cyber operations and threats.
• Ensure training content aligns with MOD and industry standards.
• Develop tailored cyber training content based on specialist tools and threat profiles.
• Produce engaging learning materials including presentations, labs and simulations.
• Create realistic scenario-based exercises that mirror real operational incidents.
• Support assessments and hands-on tasks that measure learner competence.
