Job summary

Lorien is seeking a Cyber Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop and deliver high-quality cyber security training for Defence environments at Shrivenham. You will translate complex threats into structured learning materials, simulations and assessments aligned to Defence requirements.

The role emphasizes threat intelligence, detection engineering, cyber operations, and hands-on labs using SIEM/EDR tooling, with a DSAT-guided approach and MITRE ATT&CK integrations to reflect real-world scenarios.

Qualifications

• Experience translating cyber concepts into learning materials.
• Knowledge of Defence training requirements.
• Hands-on design of cyber threat scenarios and exercises.
• Familiarity with Defence DSAT principles and theatre environments.

Responsibilities

• Design cyber security courses covering threat detection, infrastructure, systems and networks.
• Translate operational requirements into learning objectives, modules and assessments.
• Develop DSAT-aligned training content and assessments.
• Incorporate MITRE ATT&CK and real-world attack scenarios into learning activities.
• Create hands-on exercises reflecting operational environments.
