Job summary

Rowden is building the UK's next generation engineering powerhouse, delivering secure, reliable information systems and ML services in Defence, Security and Emergency sectors. The Infrastructure/DevOps team focuses on cloud platforms, automation, and release procedures across software and operations.

You will build and manage cloud environments, apply IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation, and collaborate with development teams to improve reliability, security, and performance while complying with

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience building/operating systems on cloud, virtualised, or on‑prem infrastructure.
• IaC experience with Terraform or CloudFormation, plus Ansible or equivalent.
• Able to build and deploy versioned containers into a container orchestration service.
• Some coding/scripting experience in Python, Golang, JavaScript or Bash.
• Awareness of secure system design and best practices such as NCSC Cloud Security Principles.
• Engineering mindset to improve reliability, security and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Building and managing cloud platforms to support ongoing projects.
• Creating reliable systems and services through automation and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Partnering with development teams to improve workflows through testing and release procedures.
• Providing expertise on networks, security and databases.
• Gathering and analysing metrics to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
