Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking an AWS Cloud Security Engineer to support a major Home Office migration into a new AWS environment. You will secure cloud infrastructure, enable secure deployments, and work with cross-functional teams to maintain security posture.

This role requires active SC clearance, strong AWS security expertise, and experience with IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, and security monitoring tools. Hybrid work with occasional travel to London is offered.

Qualifications

• Active SC Clearance used within a UK Government department in the last 12 months.
• Strong hands-on AWS cloud security experience.
• Experience with IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, and CloudTrail.
• Familiar with GuardDuty, Security Hub and Inspector.
• Experience designing secure AWS architectures and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across AWS cloud environments.
• Support migration of products into a new AWS platform.
• Ensure workloads, networks, identities and data are secured.
• Implement monitoring, detection, and alerting capabilities.
• Support governance and compliance across the programme.
• Develop/maintain Terraform and/or CloudFormation templates.
