Job summary

Northumbria University, in collaboration with LMUK Ltd Space, is seeking a Ground Segment Systems Engineer - Product Manager to advance secure satellite communications ground systems. You will lead technical planning, system integration, and end-to-end development across the lifecycle.

This role shapes product direction and works with multidisciplinary teams on high-stakes MoD projects. This is an exciting opportunity to influence critical programmes, manage cost and risk, and mentor others

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in systems engineering or product management for complex satellite ground systems.
• Strong background in system lifecycle development including integration, verification and validation.
• Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in satellite communications ground segment systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own technical planning, system integration, verification and validation across the full lifecycle.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications for ground segment systems.
• Lead cross-disciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders to shape product direction.
