An innovative aerospace company is seeking a skilled Satellite EGSE Engineer to oversee the procurement and daily support of electrical test racks during spacecraft build and testing. This role involves maintenance and fault finding of electronic and RF test racks, as well as computer system and network administration in both Windows and Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of various interfaces and ATE environments, and will be responsible for preparing test specifications and supporting test equipment design reviews. Job description

Satellite EGSE Engineer
Stevenage
£45 per hour + OT
6 months contract
1-stage interview - F2F
Flexible working hours

Certain Advantage is collaborating with a leading aerospace company to recruit an experienced Satellite EGSE Engineer. You will be overseeing procurement as well as day to day support of the electrical test racks used during spacecraft build and test.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance and fault finding of electronic/RF test racks.
  2. Computer system and networks administration.
  3. Programming and scripting languages.
  4. Environmental and launch test campaign.
  5. Preparing test specifications for test racks, reviewing data packs from suppliers, and supporting reviews of test equipment design and non-conformances.

Your Background:
  1. Good theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic and RF test racks.
  2. Fault finding skills down to board and component level.
  3. Network and computer administration in Windows and Linux environments.
  4. Good documentation skills (procedures, reports etc.).
  5. Knowledge of interfaces such as Mil-1553, SpaceWire, CAN bus, RS232/422 etc.
  6. ATE environments such as PCI, VXI, PXI etc.
  7. Competent in the use of a variety of general-purpose lab test equipment.
  8. Knowledge of test systems.

During the Interview, We May Ask You About:
  1. Experience of electrical integration of equipment on a spacecraft.
  2. TMTC Databases.
  3. Writing test sequences/scripts for execution of spacecraft systems tests.
  4. Experience of environmental and launch test campaigns.
  5. Knowledge of a programming language such as C, Java, Python, TCL, VBA.
