Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Programme Director to lead SAS education, development, and workforce planning. The post supports appraisal/revalidation and oversees annual spending plans in line with NHSE NW guidance.

The role requires GMC registration, a substantive Consultant or SAS appointment within the Trust, and a commitment to CPD. Strong leadership, communication and HR policy knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Fully registered with GMC and hold a substantive Consultant or SAS Doctor appointment within the Trust.
• Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Training is required.
• Desirable: Teaching involvement and Appraisal Skills Training.
• Desirable: 5 years' experience in the area and evidence of Accredited Clinical & Educational Supervision of Medical Learners.

Responsibilities

• Leadership in professional development of SAS doctors and education/training of resident doctors.
• Support SAS doctors in appraisal and revalidation processes.
• Plan and submit the annual spending plan within NHSE NW guidelines.
• Submit annual SAS spending plan and training activities report to NHSE NW.
• Collaborate with SAS Advocate and Clinical Group Management Teams to deliver and monitor SAS Charter for England.
