Are you a compassionate doctor with an interest in trauma-informed care and working in a truly multidisciplinary setting?

The Royal Devon is seeking a specialty doctor to join our highly-respected and well-established Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at our Paediatric Centre of Excellence in Exeter a service that supports children and young people from Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The post is offered on a part-time basis (6 PAs).

Your role will include performing forensic and non-forensic medical assessments (with full training and support), supporting safeguarding processes, contributing to strategy discussions, attending court as a professional witness, and working closely with partner agencies such as the police and social care. Clinical duties are well supported by training, supervision, and a clear pathway for professional development.

About Devon and Cornwall SARC service

Our staff are specially trained to support anyone who has experienced rape or sexual assault, either recently or in the past. We provide care and counselling to service users when they need it the most.

Our paediatric service is based in Exeter. We provide telephone support and clinical advice to professionals and patients 24/7, and provide forensic medical assessments for children and young people during the day, 365 days a year

Our paediatric team work closely with our colleagues in the adult SARC team, who provide forensic medical assessment for adults and those over 16 years at our SARCs in Exeter, Plymouth & Truro.
