About the Team

The Sovereign Cloud Automation & Tooling (SAT) team is responsible for developing secure, compliant, and automated tools that support SAP’s regulated Sovereign Cloud environments. Our portfolio includes advanced cloud orchestration platforms like the Operations Control Plane (OCP), as well as integrations with tools such as FRUN, Dynatrace, LAMA, and Solution Manager to ensure observability, automation, and lifecycle management.

Role Overview

As a key technical contributor, you will collaborate with product owners, architects, and DevOps engineers to design and implement high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to full-stack development with backend services (Node.js, Express, or similar frameworks).
• Integrate with RESTful APIs and work on automation, orchestration, and observability tool interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, architects, and QA to ensure intuitive and consistent user experiences.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Ensure security, compliance, and accessibility standards are met in all deliverables.
• Contribute to the evolution of our development stack, testing strategy, and CI/CD processes.
• Due to the potentially classified nature of our work, you might required to subject yourself to a governmental security clearance process(https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels)

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in ES6+, React, Redux, Node.js, and related front-end technologies.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, WebSockets, and asynchronous programming.
• Solid understanding of testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Cypress).
• Knowledge of build tools like Webpack, Babel, or Vite and experience with Git-based workflows.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments, with tools like JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins/GitLab CI.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/OpenStack) and container technologies is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working on enterprise or automation platforms.
• Exposure to Sovereign Cloud, Public Sector, or security-compliant development environments.
• Familiarity with SAP tooling and internal platforms is advantageous.
• Knowledge of TypeScript, Docker, or GraphQL is a plus.
