SAP S/4 HANA Finance Data Expert
Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a SAP S/4 HANA Finance Data Expert based in Bedfordshire for an initial 12 month contract.

Job Spec:
The SAP S/4 HANA Finance Data Expert is responsible for coordinating business data requirements within the related S/4HANA design process, providing best practice data concept proposals into the design process, defining and documenting relevant S/4 Enterprise Data Standards, and ensuring that existing SAP data is ready to migrate to S/4 HANA.
The role is aligned to the Enterprise Process Owner (EPO) Enterprise Planning and Management Reporting (EP&MR) organisation and supports the EP&MR Data Design Lead in cementing the relationship between the S/4 Data & Analytics organisation and the EPO organisation, whilst proactively engaging with the wider business (including data offices and governance forums) to ensure that the S/4 data design meets business requirements, aligns to SAP standard where possible, and supports efforts to achieve a Quality Core.
The role will support the implementation of design concepts for key data objects such as Profit Centres, Cost Centres, WBS elements and Margin Analysis characteristics (COPA fields) as we deploy in our ‘pioneer markets’.
Main Responsibilities:
- Define, document relevant S/4HANA target state business data standards by providing data subject matter expertise into the global process design cycle, ensuring process designs align with S/4HANA data best practice concepts and process data requirements are collected and consolidated into robust data documentations.
- Apply data, process and object expertise to support EP&MR related S/4 process design, acting as an integral part of the EP&MR EPO design & data teams, considering both business process and analytics requirements to support best business practice.
- Collect and share relevant ‘as-is’ data structures and harmonisation assessments alongside best practice to-be Data Design proposals and feed into the Global Design process.
- Involvement in supporting / advising on the change journey from current to future state data design including completion of change impact assessments and outline of critical use case examples.
- Ensure data within EP&MR Data Domain complies with the S/4 HANA Data Governance Framework and Global Data Standards.
- Support the prioritisation of data delivery as related to EP&MR, reporting on progress to EP&MR Data Design Lead and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support relationship with current business data capability to ensure that S/4 design and the wider enterprise data design remain aligned (to include supporting interim state).
- Assist and contribute to the development of the S/4 Cleanse and Migrate approaches and plans.
- Support the cleanse and enrichment approach for data within EP&MR Data Domain in accordance with the overall data cleanse strategy.
- Provide support to project data migration processes, including the co-ordination of pre & post load business sign off.
- Support & assist the S/4 Data Governance team in the creation of effective global procedures to ensure that each data asset within EP&MR Data context is governed throughout its lifecycle.
Key Skills:
- Familiarity with SAP or S/4 HANA data constructs relevant to planning and management reporting such as Profit Centre, Cost Centre, Product Hierarchies, COPA / Margin Analysis.
- Demonstrable knowledge of how business data requirements support process execution and analytics, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to business users.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering business outcomes in a global, matrix organisation.
- Demonstrable SAP working knowledge across transactions and reporting in an SAP environment, including an understanding of how data integrates within an SAP architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a diverse, global team, within and across functions. Experience with global working and across cultures.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives.
- Ability to support negotiations across a complex group, to a target outcome for EP&MR.
- Ability to effectively prioritise to ensure goals and outcomes are achieved.
- Qualified accountant with experience of planning and management reporting.
Desirable Skills:
- S/4 HANA implementation experience.
- Experience in life sciences and healthcare.
- Experience in Data Governance.
- Experience in measuring, managing and improving Data Quality.
